Comments Print article

The Art Gallery of South Australia is about to open late until 9pm on the first Friday of each month. The first ‘First Friday’ is Friday 7 November.

People now have the opportunity to start their weekend with a drink and something to eat in the Gallery’s restaurant and then immerse themselves in some of the finest art in South Australia. There is something for everyone at the Art Gallery of South Australia.

You can also hear some great talks, unwind to live music and take in the Gallery’s latest exhibition Fashion Icons: Masterpieces from the Collection of the Musee Des Arts Decoratifs in Paris which showcases 90 glamorous Parisian fashion garments, including designs from Christian Dior, Alexander McQueen, Yves Saint Laurent and Gabrielle Chanel.

Fashion Icons is one of the most ambitious exhibitions ever held at the Art Gallery of South Australia and is exclusive to Adelaide. The garments are drawn from the most comprehensive collection of French fashion in the world.

Admission to First Fridays is free. Usual ticket prices apply for special exhibitions.

The Gallery’s First Fridays is sponsored by Santos.
