This weekend is the final chance to see this lonely-hearts comedy, which has been re-staged by the State Theatre Company 30 years after it was first produced. Written by SA playwright Andrew Bovell, After Dinner transports audiences back to the pre-Tinder era of the late 1980s, following the story of three women and two men who meet at a pub bistro. Read InDaily’s interview with Bovell here and see our review here. Performances run until Sunday at the Dunstan Playhouse.
Born Yesterday – Goodwood Theatre
Independent Theatre will perform Garson Kanin’s theatre show Born Yesterday at the Goodwood Theatre from tonight. Set immediately after World War II, Born Yesterday tells the story of a shady businessman who descends on Washington to cash in on the wartime scrap-metal trade. The 1946 play is described as a “timeless fable about bullying and the abuse of political power”. Performances run through to Wednesday.
