Festivals
Former United States ambassador to Australia Jeffrey Bleich is one of the latest keynote speakers announced for next month’s Adelaide Festival of Ideas, where he will speak about “democracy’s new challenge”.
Bleich, who was ambassador from 2009 to 2013 and also served as special counsel to President Barack Obama in the White House, now works in Silicon Valley and was last year named one of the US’s 500 most influential lawyers.
Flinders University vice-chancellor Colin Stirling said Bleich would deliver the university’s annual Investigator Lecture as part of the Festival of Ideas “at a pivotal time in the US presidential race”.
