Ann Vickery is head of writing, literature, and culture at Deakin University. Researching predominantly in the areas of literary feminism, poetry, and modernism, she is the author of Leaving Lines of Gender: A Feminist Genealogy of Language Writing (2000) and Stressing the Modern: Cultural Politics in Australian Women’s Poetry (2007).
As conversations about literary representation evolve, so does the Stella Prize. Five of the 12 authors on the tenth Stella Prize longlist are Indigenous, one is non-binary, and genre – including poetry – is in the mix.
