Lorde locked in for Adelaide Festival

New Zealand singer Lorde will perform at Adelaide Oval as part of next year’s Adelaide Festival, with the songwriter set to make her first trip to South Australia since 2014.
The Adelaide Festival announced today that Lorde will play a one-off concert on the Adelaide Oval Village Green on Thursday, March 16, alongside Los Angeles indie pop trio Muna and Adelaide singer-songwriter Stellie.
The concert, marking Lorde’s first visit to Adelaide since 2014, is part of a three-week tour of Australia and New Zealand showcasing her August 2021 album Solar Power.

The 14-song album reached number one in Australia and New Zealand last year. It was the third studio album of Lorde’s career after she burst onto the scene as a 16-year-old in 2013 with her hit single Royals.
Tickets for Lorde’s Adelaide Oval concert go on sale to the general public at 10am on Wednesday, October 19, after a pre-sale to Adelaide Festival members today.
The Village Green has a concert capacity of 15,000 people, according to Adelaide Oval.
The 2023 Adelaide Festival is scheduled to run from March 3 to March 19 and will include the previously announced operatic centrepiece – an epic production of Verdi’s Messa da Requiem featuring 36 dancers from Ballett Zürich, around 75 members of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, the 80-strong Adelaide Festival Chorus, and four soloists.
The full festival program will be released on November 9.
