It’s probably just as well The Wolfe Brothers aren’t vegetarians. The country music stars are, after all, kicking off their national tour at Beef2024 in Rockhampton, playing at the Schwarten Arena.
“No, we’re absolutely not vegetarians,” Tom Wolfe confirms. “So, this is the perfect event to kick off a tour. We have played Rocky heaps over the years. First time was back in 2012. It’s always been a part of Queensland that’s been good to us. Great people up there.
“We spend a lot of time in Queensland touring and, honestly, we love it. I reckon if we weren’t Tassie boys we would move to Queensland.”
Tom Wolfe and brother Nick recently performed two sold-out concerts with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, warming up for their Still Livin’ the Dream tour, which begins in Rockhampton on May 9 and finishes in November, including several more Queensland dates.
“We look forward to getting back out on the road and cranking up the volume for fans old and new all over Australia for the rest of the year,” Tom says.
Brother Nick says the duo is in song-writing mode and will also spend time in Nashville in the US this year working on new material.
“Earlier this year we also started to record some new songs with our producer Rod McCormack,” Nick says. “It is always a good vibe testing our new songs out live at the shows and getting the fans feedback.
“Watching their reaction to new tunes is the perfect way to road test the songs and it gives us an indication as to how the songs are connecting. So, I for one am really looking forward to playing a few of the new songs at these upcoming shows.”
In January at the Australian Country Music Awards the Tasmanian-based duo took home three Golden Guitars, bringing their career total to nine, further cementing them in the history books as the most awarded duo in Australian country music history.
The brothers were also honoured in January by the Country Music Association of Australia as this year’s inductees into the Galaxy of Stars, with a bronze plaque placed outside the Tamworth Entertainment Centre.
They also made their first NRL appearance at this year’s Anzac Day showdown between the Sydney Roosters and the St. George Illawarra Dragons at Allianz Stadium. They will also tour New Zealand for the first time. Their special guest for most of their touring shows is Toyota Star Maker 2022 winner and this year’s Golden Guitar winner for Best New Talent, Max Jackson.
It has been an amazing 12-year ride for The Wolfe Brothers, who first found fame performing on TV’s Australia’s Got Talent in 2012. Nick is a former postman and Tom is a carpenter. They come from a long line of berry farmers (Wolfe’s Berry Farm is still a going concern) and musicians.

“It’s been an incredible journey, highs and lows and everything in between,” Tom says. “One thing we have never lost sight of is where we come from and how lucky we are to do this for a living.
“We consider it an honour to travel the country playing music. We were fortunate enough to spend a decade as Lee Kernaghan’s opening act and we learnt a lot about playing live and putting on a great show every night.”
The brothers have toured in the US and Canada, but right now their sights are set on Rocky and Beef2024. Expect a meaty performance.
